About Christian Art

Our Mission

Christian Art’s mission is to offer a pathway to grow closer to God through the beauty of art and the Gospel.

What We Do

We offer a unique approach to daily Gospel readings. Each day, we select a work of art relevant to the day’s scripture passage and offer a short written reflection on the two.

With over 40,000 subscribers, our goal is to bridge the gap between the art world and the Catholic Church to facilitate a magnificent pairing of art and the Christian Faith.

Meet Patrick

Patrick van der Vorst is a former Director of Sotheby’s London. He worked at Sotheby’s in Bond Street from 1995 till 2010, as an auctioneer and Head of Furniture. He left the company to set up his own online art valuation company, ValueMyStuff.com, often referred to in the press as the Antiques Roadshow online. With over 500,000 customers he sold the company in 2018 to pave the way to start seminary in September 2019. He joined the Pontifical Beda College in Rome for the Diocese of Westminster, London. He launched the Christian.Art website after selling his company and before starting seminary, wanting to write mainly as personal meditations on the daily Gospel, combing his knowledge of the arts which he had been professionally active in for the past 25 years, in anticipation of studying for the priesthood. Patrick hopes to bring people closer to the Christian faith using art and beauty as powerful, unintimidating gateways to the Word of God.
